CAPITAL PUNISHMENTCapital Punishment I believe that capital punishment should not only be enforced but it should be stepped up and more widely practiced. Too many bad people are filling the prisons, wasting taxpayer's money; the situation is only getting worse. The criminals in today's prisons aren't being rehabilitated or made to feel sorry for their wrongs, they are trained to be better criminals. They feed off each other, learn every bit of information they can just in time for their parole. They are now a learned criminal ready to do battle against their enemies and with their new knowledge they probably will never be caught. We need to put an end to this destruction of society, we need to strictly enforce capital punishment, without it there is no hope. There are various reasons why capital punishment should be even more strongly enforced and widely practiced than it is already. One being that it costs more to house a murderer for the rest of his life, then it does to send an aspiring young student to Harvard. Now in some cases the wrong man is sent to the chair and those cases are what my opponents will cling to, trying to make it obvious that capital punishment is wrong. But the majority of those men have a lengthy criminal record themselves. And besides, those cases are very few and far between, especially with today's expensive and indiscriminant ways to discover the truth. Capital punishment will be recognized for what it is, it is the answer to our rotting jail system, it is the future for our society. |
